The Lagos State Police Command has invited Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, over allegations of multiple rape, sexual offences and other conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace. According to an official statement signed by SP Abmbl Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, for the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, the cleric has been served a police invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID on Monday, January 5, 2026, by 10am. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed that a thorough investigation be carried out into the allegations, stressing that the process will be professional, transparent and unbiased. The police also confirmed that full security protection has been provided for alleged victims and encouraged anyone with relevant complaints or credible information to come forward. Authorities assured that the identities of victims and witnesses will be kept strictly confidential. The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that no individual is above the law and that all allegations will be investigated according to due process, regardless of status or position.
