A Nigerian man has taken to Twitter to write about Nigerians relocating to Canada despite the low employment rate in the foreign country. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday, November 25, announced that Nigeria's unemployment rate decreased to 4.3% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024, marking a decline from 5.3% in the previous quarter (Q1 2024). In October, Statistics Canada reported that the unemployment in the country was at 6.5 per cent, while job growth was little changed from the previous month. Comparing the unemployment rate in both countries with Canada getting the lower data, the Twitter user suggested that Nigerians relocating to Canada are doing so just to experience the cold weather, particularly the 'snow.
